Captain Kyah
Meet Captain Ky, a ‘true true’ Bahamian (born, bred & ga dead) with a lifelong passion for the ocean. His maritime journey began at The Bahamas Maritime Training Institute, where he mastered seamanship and navigation. By 2009, he had earned his B-class captain's license, further cementing his expertise and he’s been on the water and staying up to date ever since.
Ky's love for the ocean led him to a private island owned by Grammy award-winning artist Shakira and the legendary Roger Waters. As the head island caretaker, he charmed celebrity guests with unforgettable boat tours. Kyah's enthusiasm for his beautiful homeland is infectious, and he can't wait to share his knowledge and love for the ocean with future visitors!

First Mate Kate
First Mate Kate has a passion for the ocean, she loves all things water related and is a true water baby at heart. She has spent most of her life in and around the water and has worked as a First Mate and Hostie in The Bahamas, Canada and Australia.
Kate embodies the spirit of the ocean and adventure, often called a 'mermaid' for her aquatic grace and prowess, she loves sharing her favourite special spots. She is also a PR and marketing wiz and runs her own private consulting business.
Kate has also played host to the world’s rich and famous on Shakira’s private island in The Bahamas and looks forward to sharing her favourite hidden gems with you!
A bit about our story
Ky is a Bahamian, born and raised, and Kate is originally from Canada but has been living in and exploring The Bahamas for most of her life.
We are avid swimmers, boaters, amateur freedivers and adventure enthusiasts! Ky is a seasoned Boat Captain and talented spearfisher and Kate is a mermaid at heart and First Mate – we have a passion for adventure, for going off the beaten path and for our beautiful Bahamaland!
We first met while hosting the World’s rich and famous for several years on a private celebrity owned island and together we've been sharing our favourite secret spots with our guests ever since!
